With protein from Greek yogurt and natural sweetness from banana and honey, this smoothie helps carry you through the day. I use thick Greek yogurt for an extra-creamy texture, then add a splash of milk to reach the consistency I want.

Between the pumpkin puree and the Greek yogurt this smoothie tends to be quite thick, so adjust the milk amount to make it as thick or thin as you prefer. For a dairy-free version, substitute almond milk, rice milk, or another plant-based milk.

Homemade Smoothie Sweeteners

I avoid overly sweet smoothies because too much sugar undermines the healthy appeal. For this recipe I use a little honey, but you can sweeten it with the sweetener you prefer. Taste the smoothie before serving and adjust the sweetness as needed.
